Our printables are so easy to download and print out. Just follow these steps:

  • Click on the printable(s) you’d like to download, and save to your computer.
  • Send to your favorite photo printer to have printed on either matte cardstock or photo glossy paper (at-home printing is, of course, an option, but I find professional printers usually print colors and images more vividly and clearly).
  • Printables print best at 8×10.
  • Frame, display (or gift!) and admire!

I often get asked about what frames I use for the art around my home–this set of 7 solid wood frames is my go-to; you can see them in action in this gallery wall post!  Basically, I love frames that are white, flat, and matted. Simple, in my opinion, is best!

easy matchbook advent calendar

September 25, 2017

We have a few months until Christmas, but I’m sharing this advent calendar idea with you now so you can get a head start on your holiday crafting. This advent calendar is so simple to make, and the matchbooks are just the right size for small candies or treats…

The idea for this came from Country Living, and, I’m telling you, it’s one of the easiest and cheapest advent calendars out there. Here’s what you need to make one for yourself…

Materials:
25 matchbooks
scrapbook paper
ric rac
hot glue

Step 1: Empty your matchbooks (I found mine 10 for $1 at Dollar Tree), and then hot glue the tops to each other so that you have 5 rows: one row of 9, one of 7, one of 5, one of 3 and one of 1.

Step 2:Wrap each row of matchbooks. I used scrapbook paper, but wrapping paper or kraft paper would work well, too.

Step 3: Hot glue your rows, one of top of the other, to get your tree shape. Wrap outside in ric rac or ribbon, stamp or handwrite numbers on boxes, fill with treats, and you’re done!

make a christmas tree using paper straws

September 11, 2017

Looking for an easy Christmas craft using paper straws? This Paper Straw Christmas Tree is simple, inexpensive, and so cute!

paper straws

I know, I know…no one is ready to think about Christmas crafting quite yet. But even so, it’ll be here in just a few short months. Get into the spirit with this simple tree craft!

I wanted to give you a quick craft idea that you might actually have time to fit into your busy schedule.

You can imagine this same idea for other seasons or occasions with different colored straws or “topper”. It would make a great centerpiece or tabletop decoration. You could even modify it a bit to make a tree topper.

Here’s what you need: Styrofoam cone (6″), approximately 50 straws, glue gun, and scissors for the tree, and a stapler and a handful of cupcake liners for the topper.

Start gluing straws onto the cone leaving space between where you can insert a shorter straw.

After you’ve gone around once, you’ll use straws with about 1″ or so cut off and fill in the gaps. Continue going around until you feel the cone is well covered. I’m not a perfectionist so it didn’t take me long at all.

To make the topper, I used the same technique from a previous post (here) but chose to trim a little off of the edges to make it just a little bit smaller.

This makes such a cute little decoration–it’s cheery and simple.

What are your favorite ways to craft with paper straws?

The chalkboard background, the whimsical fonts, and the sweet bird riding on the red vintage car makes this printable perfect for the rustic, farmhouse-style decor that’s so popular now.
