I’ve painted glasses a couple of times before (see my confetti glasses here and a holiday version here), but I wanted to try something a little different in a go-with-anything color scheme of black, white and gold.
The hardest part of these painted wine glasses is the dry time needed between coats. Other than that, it was such an easy process!
I found these stemless wine glasses at Target, and the paint at Hobby Lobby. When you’re choosing your paint, look for something that states that the paint is safe for ceramics and glassware. They’ll be a cure time, usually about 21 days, that the paint will need to set before you can use them.
White paint against a white background is a bit hard to see, but, basically, I took a wide paintbrush and painted the bottom of each glass. I used a slightly curvy pattern for a bit of interest. I painted three coats, letting each coat dry for about an hour.
Once dry, I took a round foam brush and painted on my black polka dots. For the gold, I used gold puffy paint, but a narrow paint brush and gold paint would work just as well.
These would be so easy to customize for a gift or even a shower favor (especially at under $2 per glass).
