In short, though, these are the slime ingredients you need:
- 6 ounces glitter glue, white glue or clear glue
- 1/2 TBSP baking soda
- 1 TBSP contact lens solution
I know slime feels intimidating to some. There are so many different slime recipes out there and everyone has their own take on how to best make slime.
This recipe really is easy, though, and will have you feeling more confident about making slime and maybe trying a more complex recipe next time.
Can You Make Slime With White Glue?
This is a question I get a lot and the answer is “absolutely”!
You can definitely make slime with white glue. Just remember, though, that slime with white glue will be opaque and much less transparent than slime made with clear glue.
You can still add color (using food coloring) and glitter/sequins etc to slime made with white glue, you just won’t be able to see the add-ins quite as clearly.
How Do You Make Slime with Clear Glue?
The recipe I share below uses glitter glue, BUT you can easily make this slime recipe with clear glue.
When we make slime using clear glue instead of glitter glue, it’s a great opportunity to add glitter and sequins to give it some color and texture!
In short, whether you make your slime with white glue, clear glue or glitter glue, just make sure you keep the ratios approximately the same for best results.
Meaning, since the recipe below calls for a 6 ounce bottle, use 6 ounces of glue no matter what type of glue it is.

Glitter Glue Slime Recipe {How to Make No Borax Slime}
Looking for an easy no borax glitter slime recipe? This post has you covered! We're sharing a DIY glitter slime recipe that only uses a few ingredients!
Ingredients
- Elmer's Glitter Glue-6 ounce bottle
- 1/2 TBSP Baking Soda
- 1 TBSP Contact Lens Solution*
Instructions
- Empty bottle of glitter glue into a bowl. Add your baking soda and stir. Add your contact lens solution and mix in. After the slime begins to form, you may want to remove it from the bowl and knead it with your hands.
- Slime still too sticky? Add a drop or two more of contact solution!
Store in an airtight container.
Notes
In an airtight container, slime should last about a month!
When beginning to mix your slime, use a spoon at first so that the slime doesn't stick all over your hands!
When we remove the slime from the bowl and begin to knead it, we try to use our fingers (instead of our whole hands) until the slime becomes less sticky. It helps make less of a mess!
*only contact solutions containing borate or boric acid will create slime
