So today, I’m sharing my favorite and free sunflower SVG files for you to download and use in your projects.
These free files can be used in so many ways! At the end of this post, I share some of my favorite ideas for using these files…
First, though, let’s talk about SVG files and what they are.
WHAT IS AN SVG FILE?
An SVG file, which stands for scalable vector graphic file, is a standard graphics file type used for rendering two-dimensional images.
SVG files generate clean graphics at any scale.
Just as important, they’re also SEO-optimized, usually smaller than other formats, and capable of dynamic animations.
SVG files are great for so many applications, such as logos and cutting machines (which I imagine is why most of you are here today).
I’ve shared some free Christmas SVG and Bow SVG in the past, and at the end of this post I’ll share some ideas on how to use these free SVG files.
We’ve also shared some fun and festive Pumpkin SVG for your fall crafting projects!
HOW DO YOU OPEN SVG FILES?
There are so many programs out there that will open SVG files.
Since most of you will be opening SVG files for your cutting machines (I’m assuming), we’ll put our focus there.
SVG files usually come in a zipped folder and need to be extracted before you can use the files.
Once you download a file, you’ll need to unzip it before you can import it into your software program of choice.
To unzip your SVG file, double-click the folder and choose “extract all”.
You’ll be asked where you want your files to go. I often choose either my desktop or a folder on my computer (you can label a folder “SVG files” for easy retrieval).
Just remember where you extract your files as you’ll need to find them again.
Once you are in your design space (probably either Cricut Design Space or Silhouette Studio), you’ll upload your file and begin your project.
